Queen of Hamburg Peony Roots

$28.00

Full double, very large flower opens bright gleaming pink. The durable pigments retain color well and the petal edges cast a frosted tip to silver luster at maturity. Broad, rounded outer petals, grade smaller toward center, slightly in-curved segments are furled and notched at the edges. Many tightly packed petals are of very good substance and fine form. Good plant habit, vigorous and strong grower, a dependable bloomer with copious amount of color on a large, tall bush. Long, straight stems are well covered in semi-glossy, medium green foliage which remains attractive for most of the growing season. A sprawling bush, in rough weather stems sag with opened flower, requires mechanical support if to be flowered in the viewed landscape. Furnishes excellent stems for the vase and a fabulous choice for the cut flower garden.

Note: Fall is the ideal time to plant peony roots (usually September–November). Peonies grow slowly and may take 2–3 years to bloom after planting bare roots. All bare roots will come with 3-5 eyes. Peony roots will be shipped in the fall.
